Welcome to our little space of the web.

After buying a cute little mill house in Five Points, renovating it and thinking we would never live anywhere else we decided to move. To a rancher. A pink rancher. So not us. But, it will be, with time, elbow grease and good contractors! From the first time we walked in the front door we knew we were home. The new house is right around the corner from my parent's house where I grew up. We are so excited for Matthew and Charlotte to grow up here, riding bikes, going to the pool, playing in the woods... my childhood was filled with freedom and wonder allowed by a safe neighborhood that I could explore and make my place in the world. I am thrilled we can give that to our children.

These days our blog is filled with the adventures of Mateo and Charlotte...mixed in with a few home projects and recipes. But mostly the kids take front and center. Join us on the adventure!

Matthew Home Sick

Cold and Flu Season is upon us.  And as usual it takes Matthew first.  And with his asthma we are very vigilant as a little cold can cause major breathing problems. We have been on a daily inhaled steroid for almost a year now and we are hoping this helps with this year's cold and flu season.

Unfortunately, it won't keep him from getting sick.  He was sent home from daycare on Tuesday with a fever and he clearly felt awful.  We sat on the sofa and snuggled for most of the afternoon.

The next day he took his cues from Daddy and set up shop on the sofa.

This lasted for about 2 minutes :-) and he was up and about looking for things to do. I had found some Christmas peel and stick window decorations and we played with them first on the front door and then on the dishwasher.  I have loved this Christmas season and telling him all about the manger and Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus.

Then we decorated a little tree together.  This didn't go very well.  He didn't get quite understand that his dinosaur ornaments were supposed to stay ON the tree!

Future architect? Needless to say I was very proud of this masterpiece!

After a almost 3 days at home we were very excited to be fever free and back at school on Friday!  And thankfully we only had to give him his inhaler on the first day.  It seems the daily asthma medicine is doing what it is supposed to!
